| Students must attend school regularly and be on time for classes to benefit from the instruction and develop habits of punctuality, self-discipline, responsibility, and respect. The maximum number of absences per school year is fourteen (14). Days over the allowable fourteen requires attending a scheduled make-up day(s). Excessive absences not made up will result in repeating the year. For the student’s safety, the office must be informed by 9:00 a.m. of a student’s absence. A planned absence requires an SER Form (Student Event Release) on file at least 24 hours in advance signed by the parent and a school representative. In the case of an un-planned absence, it is the student’s responsibility to check with teachers regarding missed work. Teachers may require assignments due or tests to be taken on the day of return, if they were set in advance (term papers, book reports, mid-terms, etc.). Both planned and unplanned absences count toward the 14 allowable absences. Makeup days are held in June. Find out more on the SSCA Communications & News Site. |
