Who is Stone Stile Christian Academy

A stile is a structure which provides people a passage through or over a fence or boundary via steps, ladders, or narrow gaps. Stiles are often built in rural areas along footpaths, fences, walls or hedges to prevent farm animals from moving from one enclosure to another while allowing path users still to use the route. Stiles were often made out of stone on ancient routes in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe. These stiles were commonly used for footpaths to cross dry stone walls. Many of the legacy stiles remain today with some modern highways following these ancient paths. This makes me think about the prophecy delivered by Jeremiah concerning the coming destruction of Jerusalem. In Jeremiah 6, his prophecy declared that Judah would be plundered and taken into captivity because God’s Word became a reproach to the people and they have no delight in it. Jeremiah makes the statement that everything they had would be turned over to “others” because “everyone is given to covetousness”, “everyone deals falsely”, and “they were not at all ashamed”. God makes an emotional appeal to the people to “stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old (ancient) paths (of antiquity), where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it’” (v16 NKJV). God’s advise to us is to be like a traveler asking for directions. Am I on the right road? What is the safest and best route? If we follow God’s ways from the ancient times, and stay on the good paths, then they will lead to rest at the end of our journey. This is the goal of Stone Stile Christian Academy, that we teach, and the students learn, the good paths and the ancient ways. Learn more about SSCA.

Philosphy of Education

We believe education is the process of learning to apply God’s truth in academic excellence and spiritual growth. The home, church, and school should compliment this endeavor. Education, knowledge, and truth must not be experienced apart from God. His Word should be interwoven throughout the learning process. “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3:16 & 17 (NASB) Learn more about our Academics.
